Empty Bowl

Mrs. Dudley does a community-based project each year within all her classes. This year, Mrs. Dudley reached out to the local Food Pantry to partner with them in receiving the proceeds of their earning of Empty Bowl Jr. Event. Over 80 bowls were made over a period of one month, being, creating by hand, bisque fired and then glazed fired by each of her students. Mrs. Dudley feels that it is important for her students to give back to the community and this project does just that. This year The Food Pantry of Franklin, completed the required paperwork to receive a portion of the proceeds from the Brazos Valley Empty Bowl Jr., Event, sponsored by the Arts Council that the Franklin High School Art Dept. has been a part of for the past four years. Mrs. Dudley hopes that this partnership with the Food Pantry of Franklin will be the beginning of a yearly income for the pantry on behalf of her students and FHS Art Dept. The Empty Bowl Jr is a great way to provide for those that need a helping hand within our community, as well as a rewarding experience for all involved.
This year the event raised $1,127.60 for our local Food Pantry!
