Extra Credit

Students have a plethora of opportunities for Extra Credit in my class:

-SIGNED IPR'S WITH SUMMARY
It is Franklin High School's policy to hand out IPR's (Interim Progress Reports) EVERY Monday to let students and parents know where they stand in each class in terms of daily grades, test grades, and missing work.  *If my students get this IPR signed by a parent or guardian with a HALF PAGE summary on the back of what we talked about in class, and turn it in by the Friday of the same week, they will get 1 Extra Credit point; therefore, with 9 week grading periods, students have the opportunity to get a total of 9 Extra Credit points for signed IPR's*

-CHALLENGER QUESTIONS
Every Monday I will post a "Challenger Question" in my room over a current event, or something that we will be discussing in class that students will either need to research or write a summary about.  *To get credit, the summary must be a HALF PAGE.*  With 9 week grading periods, students will have the opportunity to get a total of 9 Extra Credit points for answering Challenger Questions.

OTHER OPPORTUNITIES
At other various times throughout the school year, I will also offer Extra Credit for finishing Test Reviews.  Depending of the length of the review, students can earn anywhere from 3-5 Extra Credit points for completing.

*BOTTOM LINE:  ALL STUDENTS HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO EARN 20+ EXTRA CREDIT POINTS EACH 9 WEEK GRADING PERIOD.  NOT TAKING ADVANTAGE OF THIS IS UNIQUE OPPORTUNITY WOULD BE A TRAVESTY!!!!!*
