Howdy!  My name is Matthew Russell and I'm very excited to return to Franklin High School for a 3rd year.  I hold a bachelor's degree in Chemistry from Texas A&M.  Every day I feel blessed and truly lucky to be teaching in Franklin.  My wife and I are very proud parents to our growing son, Max.

For the 2017-2018 school year, I will be teaching 1st-year Chemistry (10th and 11th grade), AP Chemistry, and Forensic Science.  I will also be coaching the UIL Science team.

*As of 2017-2018, FHS will not be providing composition books to individual students.  Students must purchase one ahead of time or from me for at a minimal cost.  Graph paper composition books are not required*

Class reference materials such as study guides and notes will be distributed electronically via Google Classroom.  If the student does not have reliable access to the internet at home, a paper copy can be printed but must be organized by the student.

My classroom consists of a mixture of lecture, demonstrations, student-driven labs, and online activities.  Internet access is provided in class and is recommended for all students at home.
