Welcome to Art/Ceramics class.
I am always doing that which I can not do, in order that I may learn how to do it. - Pablo Picasso

My Teaching Philosophy is:

As an art teacher, my major objective is to enhance the everyday lives of my students through the enjoyment of art.  My goal is to give each student the appreciation of art by building a foundation of understanding. The studio activities in the art room will be integrated and meaningful, to present a unified, consistent series of art experiences for the student. As a correlation with other subjects, art can develop the creative ability of the students, broadening their thinking and heightening their awareness of the role of art in the world.

With a discipline based art education program, students will develop abilities for making, examining, reading and talking about art. There are four major disciplines that contribute to the content of art education: aesthetics, art criticism, art history and art production. Students will explore different methods, techniques, and procedures of visual art media through studio activities such as: drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking, ceramics and design.
